Places I Want to Travel

Hey,

It's been a while since I've traveled around the world. The only places I've really been to is China because that is my birth country, and Japan, because my dad was once working there. This summer I will be traveling to France because of a French course I'm taking, and I'm really excited because this is my first time going to Europe. I've always love the French pastry, croissants, baguettes, cheese, and I've always loved the French history. I think France is a beautiful country and I can't wait to go there.

Ever since my parents allowed me to travel to France, I've been thinking about other countries I would like to go to.

Taiwan. I do not own this picture

My mom really want to go to Taiwan, and I also would love to go there. On top of Taiwan, I would like to go to Thailand.

Thailand. I do not own this picture

I think that Thailand is a gorgeous country, it has really nice scenery, and it's warm. I was agnostic until, my mom told me about Buddhism. There is actually a Buddhist temple that is pretty close to where I live and lately, I've been going there every week to do some prayers. What I really like about the religion that lots of it is internal and the fact that it's spiritual. In fact, we got a bible and every night, my dad reads it to me because the bible is in Chinese characters, and I can't read Chinese. Anyways, (I'm getting off topic), Thailand is like a Buddhist country and I just really would like to go there just for experiences.

Vietnam. This picture reminds me of a place in China. I don't know why though. I do not own this picture

Vietnam is also a really cool place to go to. In fact when I was young, I actually had a friend and she was Vietnamese but then I moved to a new city and unfortunately, I lost contact with her. Last but not least,

South Korea. I do not own this picture

South Korea is definitely a place I would go to. The place I live here in Toronto, there's actually a lot of Koreans, and one of my friend is Korean, and she was telling me about Korea and their relations to China, so it's pretty. I never really thought much of South Korea until I heard about kpop and saw this video of Super Junior and Snsd sing a song together. I was really this music video that made me fall in love with Korea.
Super Generation!

Malaysia and Singapore are places I would like to go to. What I really like about both places is that they speak multiple languages. A friend of mine who sat next to me is Malaysian and he was telling me how many Malaysians speak Mandarin. Last year, when I was taking Chinese classes, another friend of mine was born in Singapore and he was telling me how Singapore has many different languages.

For me, when it comes to traveling, I prefer to travel to the countryside of the country, not the city because I think that all cities are the same. There's buildings, restaurants, and shopping centers, that's really. I prefer to travel to more a quieter place where you can just get back to nature. The last place that's going to be on my list is China. I've already been to China, but I've only been to the "city" China, like Beijing, and Shanghai, I really want to go to Guilin, and Tibet. Apart of the heavy pollution in China, Guilin is such an amazing place. It's really spacious, and trust me, once you see the picture, you're going to fall in love with the place.

Guilin, China. I do not own this picture.

They say "A picture is worth a thousand words" and this picture totally fulfills this saying. There is so much I want to say right now.

When it comes to Tibet, I know that there's a controversy between Tibet and China. Honestly, I'm not really on anyone's side, I just want to go to Tibet. The only thing that I am a little bit hesitant is the fact that the location of Tibet is at a very high altitude so it's extremely important to have a healthy body going there.

Tibet. I do own this picture.

This marks the end of my post. May all your dreams come true!

A Little Update

Hey!

So I recently finished writing all of my exams! I so glad that this semester is over, and I can relax and enjoy my next semester, so I'll be able to update my blog more often. I actually have alot of pictures I want to show you during my winter break and what happened yesterday! I took the pictures on my phone, but I can't find the cable that connects my phone to the computer. I actually found it a while ago, and now it's lost. Uhhhgggg...I'm so mad!

Anyways, the pictures I was going to upload were a bunch of pictures of snow. Remember how I wanted a white Christmas, well, that came true! It snowed during Christmas break and yesterday, there was like blizzard.

Well since I'm not able to post the pictures up yet, I'll just update you on something else. Well right now, there's not much news about EXO, but I'll still give you guys an update. EXO has recently been travelling throughout Asia to promote. Ummm...they haven't been doing any variety shows, lately but they have been performing a lot. EXO was actually on Idol Olympics, and the team consisted of: Luhan, Sehun, Chan Yeol, Tao, Baek Hyun, and Suho.

To be quite honest, I was surprised that Kris wasn't in the team because he seems like a really athletic person. He would've come in first for some running sports for sure. I mean, he was able to defeat the dominoes when he was on Go All Out. But, I guess SM wants everyone to have a chance at competing. I heard that Luhan came in 3rd for the 70m hurdle, and Tao came in second for the high jump. I'm really impressed with them because they're only rookies, and as rookies, they're doing a really good job, and I hope that they can keep it up. Here are the videos for Luhan and Tao.

I guess EXO-M does have more of an advantage because they were on Go All Out which allowed them to gain some practice. I was surprised that Tao could high jump. I honestly had no ideal, then again, Tao can do wushu, so who knows what else he can do. On tumblr, I found these really funny gifs.

I found this to be hilarious. Suho, you are probably that best leader I've heard. Going through all this trouble just for your teammates. Suho might not be the best singer, or the best dancer, but he truly is a good leader. I wonder what would've happened to him he were to debut with Super Junior.

Well this marks the end of my blog today.

BoA Atlantis Princess and Milky Way

Hey!

So I've been listening to a lot of songs by BoA lately, and my top two favourite songs by her would be Atlantis Princess and Milky Way. My type of songs are more "calm", which is why I really like Angel/Into Your World.

What I love about BoA is that she's so unique. She has her own style when it comes to the entertainment business, and I love her voice so much. You know, although I'm not Korean, but when I watch music videos with romanizations on it, I do and try to sing along, but it's so hard to match my voice with BoA's voice because of the fact that she is unique. On top of that, she is a fabulous dancer, like she's really the first girl to ever dance like a guy, and that's a compliment. Usually when you see guy groups dancing, it's always hardcore, it's never really pretty like what girls dance to. Like for girl groups, they often wear high heels while dancing to make their legs look long, and therefore, they can't dance like the guys do, (then again, maybe the company makes them wear short dresses and dance in high heels). What I love about BoA so much is that she really doesn't care what she looks like, yeah she's danced in high heels before, but you never see her wearing short dresses while dancing, on top of that, she's danced hardcore while wearing heels. She's probably the only tom boy in k-pop entertainment like have you seen her dance to I Eat You Up. The choreography for that song was pretty difficult and she makes it look so easy.

Talented BoA, as always

BoA in Milky Way. I know, it's not the best picture

On a random note, BoA looks like Jessica form SNSD in Milky Way but my friend thinks she looks like Luna.

Anyways, BoA truly is the queen of kpop, I don't think anyone could beat her. I mean, she's recorded songs in Korean (obviously), Japanese (of course), and even Chinese. Like only the really good groups actually record in Chinese. Too be honest, her pronunciation isn't the best, but we have to give her credit for trying.
GO BOA!
Not this boa!

This BoA
Good luck in the future BoA, your fans will always believe in you. Hwaiting!

Girls Generation I Got a Boy Comeback

Hey!

So, yesterday, Snsd released their comeback song I Got a Boy! Check out the music video below!

When I first heard this song without watching the music video, it was kind of confusing actually. Don't get me wrong or anything, I really like Snsd, but the song like the beat of it is just kind of too much for me. I can definitely see how SM is testing something new to the girls, I mean other than The Boys, Snsd usual choreography is wearing high heels really cutsey like gee, and stuff like that, and their songs are like bubblegum pop. The song really reminds of Super Junior's Mr. Simple where you have to listen to it many times before you really like it. There are definitely some parts that I really like, like the beginning, but there are also some parts where it's just a little bit too much for me. To really understand the song, I think it's best to watch the music video because after I watched the music video, it made more sense, and it was less confusing.

I actually love the choreography. It really reminds me of something BoA would do which is why I love it. It's definitely new, like the last time we saw SNSD dance in sneakers was during their debut days with Into the New World. SNSD definitely looks more mature, their vocals have improved a lot especially Yoona. But what I love the most is their costume. I really really like it. It's so different from before, like before, all the members would where practically the same costume like Genie.

Everyone is basically wearing the same outfit.

I really like how each of the members are wearing something different, with their own style so for newcomers, they can easily tell who is who. I still remember when I was watching GEE, I kept on getting Seohyun confused with Yoona, and Yoona confused with Yuri. Finally when I knew who was who, when Genie came out, I got confused between Sunny and Tiffany. The costumes also remind of BoA, except since BoA is known for her powerful dancing skills, she might be wearing heals if she was dancing to this song, just saying.

Personally, I not a huge fan of Sunny's new hair, I think she looks better when she had long black/brown hair during the GEE era.

Sunny has always been known as the aegyo queen, and with this new hairstyle, I don't think she will be doing aegyo any soon which really really stinks.

On a random note, I love Hyoyeon's hair. Hyoyeon looks really good in blonde hair, and adding some colour wouldn't mind. Or would it?

Hyoyeon looking beautiful as always

SM definitely toned Hyoyeon's original blonde hair lighter, and of course added some colour to it. Out of the nine members, Hyoyeon looks best with blond hair. I love how SM also added some colour to her hair, it really makes her stand out. In terms of the colour, I'm not exactly sure if they actually highlighted or chalked it. But who cares, she still looks beautiful.

That will be the end of my blog today. I hope you all enjoy SNSD's new song.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everyone!

So I know that it's been such a long time since I've written a true blog but I promise you all that in 2013, I will try and write more blogs more often. Looking back at 2012, lots of major things happened in terms of EXO and the k-pop community. I will start with EXO first.

I'm really proud of EXO and how successful they've become in a few period. I mean, EXO had their very first teaser which was released on December 21 (I know that was still in 2011) and it became a huge success. There were many discussions about it everywhere. I still remember when my friend and I first saw it, our immediate reaction was, SM is going to debut a new boy band, but we were shocked when we found out that there was a total of 23 teasers, and 2 prologue songs, 1 showcase all for just one band. Here is a video of all 23 teasers.

My favourite teasers would be...

  • Teaser #1- the beginning of EXO
  • Teaser #8- shows that the group will have 12 members
  • Teaser #9- the birth of HunHan, also because it was the first "drama" teaser, like there was no dancing involved, and this was the teaser that made me fell in love with Angel. I actually kept on replaying it over and over because I absolutely love this song. This was also the teaser that made me think about the concept of this group especially with the eclipse at the end
  • Teaser #11- because this teaser gave me a "mysterious" feel, and I started questioning if being mysterious could be their theme
  • Teaser #17- because this was the teaser that allowed me to choose my bias which of course is Kris, but also because of the song.
  • Teaser #19- because of the song. Beautiful is another one of my favourite songs by EXO
  • Teaser #20- again because of the song and the plot. I actually found the plot really interesting, and at first, I was like OMG Chan Yeol seems such a calm person, and two months later after their debut, I'm like, Chan Yeol, calm yourself
After the release of the teasers, two prologue songs were made, History and What is Love. When it comes to the song, I like History better, I really like the beat and the lyrics of it, but in terms of the music video, I prefer What is Love because I prefer music videos that has a story or a plot, but that's just my opinion. This is why I really like Japanese music videos because they tend have a very meaningful story line to the music. But overall, EXO has been super successful.

So, on New Years Eve, unfortunately, EXO was not able to be together. While EXO-K was in South Korea for SBS Gayo Daejun, EXO-M, was in China for Jiangsu TV New Years Eve Concert. I was really surprised that EXO-K performed a  different version of MAMA. It was the adlib version which fans have been waiting for quite a while. In addition, the performance was outdoors, and I can just imagine how cold it is especially not wearing much, and I live in Canada.

On a random note, I love Chan Yeol's new hair, and I'm really looking forward to EXO's comeback, which now apparently is in February.

EXO-M in Nanjing, China
While in Nanjing, China, EXO-M was performing MAMA and TWO MOONS. It was really interesting for me to be listening Two Moons because often when EXO performs TWO MOONS, the language is mixed between Chinese, English, and Korean, while yesterday, TWO MOONS was performed in only Chinese and English.

On another random note, I really wish that one day, EXO will perform TWO MOONS with Key.

Tao's, "Ayo watsup Kris?!" was replied by Kris saying, "Watsup LADIES!?" I thought that was pretty funny, but I'm pretty sure that there has to be some guys in the crowd to.

Luhan lifting his shirt up was something I did not expect and I really wished that the cameraman would have zoomed in a little, and then I would've been more satisfied. Honestly, looking at the personality of Luhan, who is shy and calm, I would've never guessed it would be Luhan who would lift up his shirt. Still, it's kind of hard for me to believe that he has abs really because of the way he looks. He has that baby face, normally, when people have a baby face, it's always hard to believe like you look at Sulli from fx, I'm sure she has abs, but it's just hard to imagine. Then again, Luhan lifting his shirt up, in a way, I wasn't so shocked but he did previously mention that he thinks he is the manliest out of EXO-M.

EXO-M performing MAMA, again....you know, I love EXO, but they honestly have to stop performing MAMA. I'm pretty sure that their fans are starting to get tired of them singing MAMA all the time.

When EXO-M was backstage preparing for the concert, they took many pictures, I found this one the most amusing.

I really really really wish that I am Xiu Min right now. Hehehehe... To be completely honest, I knew that Xtiu Min would do something something like this, but I was surprised that it was Kris who helped Xiu Min complete it. When I told my friend about this picture, she didn't actually believe me. She thought that it would be Xiu Min and Lu Han, or Xiu Min and Chen. I would honestly never imagine Kris doing this.

I hope this post will make up for it and this marks the end of my post. I promise you all that in the future, I will write more. I have all the easy subjects next semester starting in February so I'll definitely keep you all updated.

Happy New Year everyone, and hope all your dreams and wishes come true!
